On Shrove Tuesday, representatives from schools across the Wollongong diocese gathered at St Columbkille's Catholic Primary School, Corrimal, for the launch of the 2023 Project Compassion appeal.

Project Compassion is Caritas Australia's annual Lenten fundraising and awareness-raising appeal, where we come together in solidarity with the world's poor to help end poverty, promote justice, uphold dignity, and be a source of hope to others. The theme of Project Compassion is ‘For All Future Generations.’ This phrase is a powerful affirmation that the good we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come.

This activity contributes to the strategic focus area Formation in the Catholic Tradition by providing an opportunity for students to pratically express their faith and engage as active participants in their formation experience.
